This deck is a variation on Ichorid but designed for Type 2 and therefore lacking in the Ichorid department. The idea is straightforward. Dredge your deck down until you can Dread Return an enormous Golgari Grave-Troll.
Ichorid Sans-Ichorid
1 Forest
4 Gemstone Mine
3 Ghost Quarter
4 Llanowar Wastes
4 Overgrown Tomb
2 Swamp
4 Watery Grave
4 Golgari Grave-Troll
4 Golgari Thug
4 Looter il-Kor
4 Shambling Shell
4 Stinkweed Imp
4 Twisted Abomination
3 Dread Return
3 Life From the Loam
4 Putrefy
4 Remand
SB:
3 Ancient Grudge
1 Ghost Quarter
1 Life From the Loam
3 Naturalize
4 Wall of Roots
3 Leyline of the Void
The deck can put a lot of creatures in the graveyard making Avatar of Woe seem like a good choice for kill card, but Golgari Grave-Troll suffices.
The basic idea is to disrupt your opponent with Putrefy and Remand and the Ghost Quarter / Life From the Loam combo. Play Looter il-Kor and use his draws for additional dredging. Discards to Looter should always be dredge cards or flashback cards. Play any Shambling Shells, Stinkweed Imps, and Nether Traitor from hand and use them to inflict some pain or force your opponent to use their disruption.
Twisted Abomination is used to fix your mana. If you open up with Llanowar Wastes and Ghost Quarter you can use the Abomination to fetch out Tomb or Grave.
I will be testing the deck on MWS tonight. The sideboarding strategies should be as follows:
Vs. Any Aggro Deck: +4 Wall of Roots, -4 Twisted Abomination. Odds are, the aggro decks aren't going to let you get to the point where you can recur the Grave-Troll consistently so you'll want to focus more on defending yourself with Wall of Roots and Shambling Shells. You have a lot of cheap creatures as well and should be able to keep the board even until you can animate the Grave-Trolls.
Vs. Tron Decks: +1 Ghost Quarter, +1 LftL, +3 Naturalize, -4 Golgari Grave-Troll, -1 Dread Return. This matchup is going to be all about the Ghost Quarter disruption. If they can't assemble the tron they have no game. The extra Naturalizes will help get rid of signets. Then you just play out or animate Twisted Abomination to win.
Vs. Solar _____ : +3 Leyline of the Void, -2 Putrefy, -1 Dread Return. Solar Animator decks will be shut down quickly by Leyline giving you time to setup your Grave-Troll.
Vs. Dragonstorm: +1 Ghost Quarter, +1 LftL, -2 Putrefy. This is probably going to be a horrible matchup.
Vs. Tormod's Crypt: +3 Ancient Grudge, -3 Putrefy.
If anyone wants to test this out or test against it let me know.
